6 June 2022.
Women On the Move Against Cancer (WOMAC) is delighted to confirm its annual fundraiser will be held on Thursday 8 September at the House of Lords in London following a one-year break due to the pandemic.
WOMAC’s annual party, usually held in February, is an open invite to gather friends and colleagues, enjoy some tasty treats and drinks while supporting two fantastic causes - Maggie’s and Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.
On the night will be WOMAC’s infamous tombola, which has offered up thousands of prizes in previous years, including anything from a pukka pies cycling jersey to automotive memorabilia.
There is also a raffle which has been known to include the likes of car loans, trips away and tickets for exciting events such as the Goodwood Horseracing Festival.
All these items are donated by friends of WOMAC and the cupboard for this year is already building up nicely, but there is always room for more, so if you’re able to donate items or experiences - big or small - please contact georgia@simsimages.co.uk.
Proceeds from the tickets, raffle and tombola will be donated to WOMAC’s two 2022 charities - Maggie’s and Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation - both of which provide care and support for those going through a cancer diagnosis.
WOMAC has already donated £1,000 to each charity and the party will go a long way in reaching the £7,500 donation target to each charity this year.
Each year WOMAC selects an iconic location, and this year is no exception.
Founded in 1801, the House of Lords will play host to the party and is well-known as the hub of political decision making with a very interesting history.
Georgia Fox, Chair of WOMAC, said: “I’m so pleased to be able to announce a party for this year.
I can’t wait to see friendly faces and supporters of WOMAC, old and new, in one place supporting two incredible causes which are close to the hearts of members of the committee and our esteemed list of Patrons.
“Now is the time to raid those cupboards and donate any prizes you can for what will be an amazing evening.”
Donations can be made via WOMAC’s JustGiving page by visiting: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/womac2022.

About Roy Castle Lung Cancer FoundationRoy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation is the only UK lung cancer charity dedicated to helping everyone affected by the disease.
Since 1990, when the charity was set up by Professor Ray Donnelly, we have funded millions of pounds of essential lung cancer research, looking for ways to detect the disease as early as possible and save lives.
We support everyone affected by lung cancer - from diagnosis, through treatment, living with the disease and end of life care.
We raise awareness, prevent future generations from getting it and challenge the misconceptions of lung cancer.
We do all this so those diagnosed can live well with lung cancer for as long as possible.
