WOMAC donates £15,000 to EHE rare cancer charity in 40th year
3 June 2019

Women on the Move Against Cancer (WOMAC) is delighted to announce the donation of its £15,000 pledge towards this year’s chosen charity, the EHE Rare Cancer Charity (EHERCC).
Friends and supporters came together on Wednesday 13 February to help raise cancer awareness at WOMAC’s annual fundraising party - the organisation’s 40th year.
In 2019, the WOMAC party was held at The Law Society, London, where the popular raffle and tombola returned with a record total of more than 500 prizes.
It’s thanks to the many kind and generous donations from guests and corporate sponsors, including Kia Motors (UK), SMMT, Volkswagen Group UK, Bentley Motors, BMW Group UK, Vauxhall Motors and Jaguar Land Rover, that WOMAC has been able to donate these vital funds towards EHERCC’s cause.
WOMAC is also grateful for practical support from Imprimatur, Kelsey Publishing, Mark Oliver Design, Newspress and Sims Images.
Speaking at this year’s fundraising party, WOMAC Chair Georgia Fox explained: “This year is WOMAC’s 40th anniversary and, since 1979, we have donated close to £1 million to more than 70 charities.
We couldn’t have done this without your generosity and support.
I’m always overwhelmed by your desire and determination to help and donate towards our cause.
“We’re here to make a difference to people’s lives during a time when life can look bleak and hopeless.
The strength and courage of the people I’ve met in my role with WOMAC is humbling and this year is no exception.
Our aim is to raise £15,000 to help families affected by EHE, because that sort of money really does make a huge difference to so many lives.
I’d like to thank all our supporters for helping us to reach our target.”
Although the annual party is WOMAC’s biggest fundraising event, activities take place throughout the year to raise money for good causes.

About EHE Rare Cancer CharityEpithelioid Haemangioendothelioma (EHE) is a very rare form of vascular sarcoma.
The EHE Race Cancer Charity (EHERCC) gathers vital data from its worldwide membership of EHE patients, which is invaluable to the medical and research scientists who are working to understand and treat this rare cancer.
The EHERCC’s key objectives are to support patients wherever they are in the world; to promote, fund and direct research into EHE; and to act as advocates for greater awareness of, and care for, EHE.
