WOMAC weeks returns for 2022
30 May 2022

30 May 2022.
Women On the Move Against Cancer’s (WOMAC) dedicated fundraising weeks - #WOMACWeeks - is set to return for 2022 from 1-14 June.
The aim of this fortnight is to encourage fundraising efforts to support its two 2022 charities - Maggie’s and Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.
During #WOMACWeeks the committee, patrons and friends take on challenges or organise fun activities to raise money for its selected charities.
Historically, people have had cake sales, shaved heads, work sports days, running, cycling and swimming challenges and much, much more, all in a bid to raise funds for causes supporting those going through a cancer diagnosis.
Last year, almost £3,000 including donations for our London Landmark Half Marathon runners was raised and the whole team is hoping that can be surpassed this year.
The aim is to donate £7,500 to each of WOMAC’s 2022 charities and both have already received £1,000.
The pot is building up nicely thanks to the recent Southern Group of Motoring Writers (SGMW) Charity Grand Prix that raised £2,550 plus many corporate and individual donations.
Details of WOMAC’s biggest fundraiser - its annual party - will be announced in the coming weeks.
Georgia Fox, Chair of WOMAC, said: “It never ceases to amaze me the support we receive and #WOMACWeeks always brings out some interesting and fun ways to raise vital funds for such well-deserving causes.
I can’t wait to see the efforts of all our supporters and the creative ways in which they are raising money, so keep an eye on our social channels for updates.”
Don’t forget to use #WOMACWeeks to show your activity in action and tag the WOMAC social channels as follows:

You’ll find our centres alongside NHS hospitals and we can also support you online.
About Roy Castle Lung Cancer FoundationRoy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation is the only UK lung cancer charity dedicated to helping everyone affected by the disease.
Since 1990, when the charity was set up by Professor Ray Donnelly, we have funded millions of pounds of essential lung cancer research, looking for ways to detect the disease as early as possible and save lives.
We support everyone affected by lung cancer - from diagnosis, through treatment, living with the disease and end of life care.
We raise awareness, prevent future generations from getting it and challenge the misconceptions of lung cancer.
We do all this so those diagnosed can live well with lung cancer for as long as possible.
